State Rep. Sandra Major (R-Susquehanna/Wayne/Wyoming) will be hosting a safety presentation for truckers and trucking business owners from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, at the Montrose High School auditorium in Montrose. 

“Truck traffic in the northeast region continues to grow, especially with the introduction of the Marcellus Shale industry,” said Major. “Due to the influx of truckers, more trucks are being pulled over for inspection and being found not to be in compliance with the state’s Motor Carrier Law. This presentation will provide truckers and trucking business owners with information on how to stay in compliance.” 

Major said the presentation will focus on truck safety and the posting and bonding of state roads. 

Participating in the presentation will be Rion Stann, motor carrier enforcement supervisor for the Pennsylvania State Police; and Robert W. Hassel Jr., P.E., maintenance service engineer with PennDOT.
